it may not seem like it, but we are working on the site.

Visible chages lately is the new header on the portal page, as well as new more readable new post icons on the forums. In addition there's been some behind the scenes changes and coding going on as well. And as allways I'm allways at work on te creative side of the project, hopefully this'll be more visible soon as well. You may also have noticed that I have finally fixed the rank images so the images I made for the previus forum is now here as well, to go with the actual ranks, unfortunately, the images are too wide to fit the forum theme. It's also hard to really make them smaller. As such I have been working on all new futurized rank insignias, but I can't really make them look good and smaller without them being just a blur, so Imay have to look into some heavy editing of the forum theme. Unfortunately the theme itself is fairly complex, but we'll see.

Do check out the Terraformed mars WIP topic in the forums, it's pretty nice if I must say so myself, and I do :)

Maybe I'll do another short story while I wait to really get going on my really big story project.

Originally I was going to make a new and improved theme/template for the site,  Then I realized that the forums are the heart and sould of the WBD Project. unforutnately the DragonFly forums aren't very powerful, so I tried the ForumsPro module with imporved forums. unfortunately the improvements where minor and caused other problems.

 In the end I decided to try a few forum modules to see which ones where the best and if I should separate the forurm from the site as a whole, and just keep the users on the forum and the site portal as an admin tool, seeing as the Wiki has rmeoved much of the need for the portal. Well after trying and settling for SMF forums, we figured we needed at least the gallery integrated witht he users, and well, downloads would be an advantage seeing as that's part of th epurpose here. Well Coppermine is designed to integrate with almost anything and has built nmodules to bridge with SMF.  But this left an overly complex portal site with little use.

After testing many solutions now, I've settled on mkPortal, wich integrates directly with several forum databases, SMF being one of them. Yes there will be a new site theme/template.  But for now the most important thing was to get the forum back up as I couldn't open the old site for posting as all the changes inbetween would have been lost.

Yes all forum posts and users from the site has been transferred to the SMF forums and you can log in to this forum with them. a couple of users will have had a hyphen or other special character in their username removed in the process, if you wish to have your usernames restored, drop me a message.

Over time I will evaluate if I'll use the mkPortal gallery or bridge Coppermine into the site. But first everything needs a theme :)
